WEEK 4 : THE VIRTUES FOUND IN صلاة WITH خشوع
بِسْـــــــــمِ اَللّهِ الرّحْمن الرّحيم
THE VIRTUES FOUND IN صلاة WITH خشوع
Submission/Loyalty (طاعة)
THE MEANING OF OBEYING ALLAH SWT, CARRYING OUT HIS COMMANDS AND AVOIDING HIS PROHIBITIONS
• Muslims should obey the commands of Allah SWT. People who obey Allah SWT
will always carry out all His commands and stay away from Hisprohibitions.
The command to obey Allah SWT is contained in the Quran,
Surah An Nisa verse 59:
Meaning:
"O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad),
and the Ulil Amri (holders of authority) among you.
Then, ifyou differ in opinion about something, then return it to Allah (the Qur'an)
and Rasul (sunnah), if you believe in Allah and the Last Day, that is more important
(for you) and the consequences are better."
Struggle in the path of Allah
(جِهَاد)
DEFINITION OF JIHAD
• Jihad in terms of its language means, fighting the enemy by pouring all thestrength and seriousness in the form of words and deeds. It can be linked to theword 'al-juhd' which means effort and energy.
• In terms of Shariah, jihad is when a Muslim pours all his energy to win Islam
with the aim of gaining the pleasure of Allah SWT.
• That is why the word jihad in Islam is combined with 'fi sabilillah' which aims to prove that the jihad in question is a syar'ie jihad. The words of Allah SWT inexplaining this matter are as follows:
• Meaning: "Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelievefight in the way of taghut..."
TYPES OF JIHAD
• Jihad with words• Jihad with teaching (ta'limi)• Jihad with hands and soul• Jihad siasah (politics)• Property Jihad
Reflection (محاسبة)
One of the efforts that every Muslim needs to do is to reflect,
that is to examine and examine oneself to evaluate theattitude,
pronunciation and actions of the work done, whether it is in line with
and conforms to the prescribedteachings or otherwise.
• The need for everyone to reflect is based on the words of Allah Almighty in Surah Al-Hasr, verse 18 which means,"O you who believe! Fear Allah and let each person see and observe what he has prepared for tomorrow. And fearAllah, verily Allah is all-encompassing in His knowledge of everything you do."
• In that verse, God clearly commands every individual to protect himself from things that cause God's wrath, toalways be aware of God's presence in his life. Next, you must ensure that your whole self is in the Shari'ah of God,and not encroach on it with immoral behavior. Thus a person who wants himself to be always in piety, needs toreflect. If it is proven that he has committed a violation, he should immediately repent and perfect full obedience,by ensuring that he remains on the foundation of the Sharia and improving the quality of faithful practices.
